The ICAC says global cotton consumption is projected to exceed production in the 2026/27 season as output, trade and ending stocks all decline modestly.
It forecasts production at 25.94 million tonnes, down 3.8% from 26.98 million tonnes in 2025/26 while consumption is expected to rise 1.1% to 26.14 million tonnes.
