Reports urges investment in Pakistan textile waste sector

A new report is aiming to unlocking Pakistan’s textile recycling potential

Pakistan struggles with inefficient waste collection, contamination, outdated technology, and limited traceability

A combination of improved waste management, investment and supply chain development could help position Pakistan as a major global player in the textile-to-textile recycling sector, a new report suggests.

The joint report from Reverse Resources, the National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad and KnowTex, part of the Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Pollution (SMEP) programme, highlights how despite already being a key destination for global textile waste processing, the sector remains informal, therefore limiting its circular economy potential.
