Online adverts from the three brands were banned in the UK as it was ruled they were likely to mislead consumers

LONDON – Online advertisements from Nike, Superdry and Lacoste have been banned in the UK after it was ruled they exaggerated the environmental benefits of their products and were likely to mislead consumers.

According to media reports, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said adverts for all three brands used terms such as “sustainable”, “sustainable materials” or “sustainable style” without providing any evidence to support the claims.
