Ireland drafts €10m EUDR penalties

Ireland has proposed fines of up to €10 million ($11.8m) for serious breaches of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) under draft national legislation.

The proposed Deforestation and Forest Degradation Bill 2026 would impose the greater of €10 million ($11.8m), 4% of EU-wide turnover or any economic benefit from an infringement.
