LAUSANNE – A new multi-stakeholder initiative featuring contributions from firms such as Cotton Inc., Adidas and Sympatex will seek to combat the threat posed by marine plastic pollution using more reliable metrics to measure the actual size of the problem.

The new ‘Plastic Leak Project’, which will be led by Quantis and Shaping Environmental Action, uses a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) approach to help ‘close the loop’ on oceanic plastic pollution. Its official start date is January 2019.
