PHNOM PENH – Two garment manufacturing sites in Cambodia have been ravaged by fires over the weekend, but it’s not yet known what started the blaze.

On Saturday evening at approximately 17:30pm local time, the factory of 8 Star Sportswear Ltd caught fire and was quickly engulfed as stock fuelled the flames which soon after spread to the neighbouring Morica Industry Co Ltd.

“We don’t know the total losses yet, but a warehouse of clothes and machines was completely razed in addition to an electrical generator room,” Morica’s administrative manager Tong Lib said.
