STOCKHOLM - H&M-owned brand Monki has announced the launch of a new hydrothermal recycling process - the ‘Green Machine’ - which claims to be the first to recycle mixed cotton and polyester fibres at scale.

The Green Machine, a collaboration between the non-profit H&M Foundation and the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textile and Apparel (HKRITA), separates cotton and polyester blends in a closed cycle.
