PARIS - Zara owners Inditex, Uniqlo, SMCP and footwear brand Skechers are being sued in France for allegedly using cotton produced with forced labour in China.

Three NGOs and a Uyghur woman who was held at a camp in the Xinjiang region of China have filed the complaint with the Paris Judicial Court.

The action is being taken by Collectif Ethique Sur L’étiquette - a French partner of the Clean Clothes Campaign, anti-corruption group Sherpab and the Uyghur Institute of Europe. It is also supported by the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) and the World Uyghur Congress.
