GENEVA – The IndustriALL Global Union has announced the formation of a gender equality task force which will look to drive change in the apparel, mining and electronics sectors.

The body’s first priority will be to develop a policy capable of addressing sexism, misogyny and GBVH (gender-based violence and harassment) embedded within supply chains.

IndustriALL general secretary Alte Høie said: “Discussions within the women’s committee prioritises due diligence and a just transition as it is critical to ensure that IndustriALL develops gender receptive actions and policies. Women are always most affected by calamities.”
