SAN FRANCISCO - Textile innovator Unspun has raised US$14 million in a Series A funding round to scale its 3D weaving technology which it says can help brands set up zero-inventory micro-factories.

Unspun claims the technology, called Vega, can weave a pair of trousers in under 10 minutes, using proprietary robotic technology, and support an onshored, circular and automated supply-chain for woven products.

It enables brands to set up localised micro-factories to manufacture products on 'demand or just-in-time', making the process more sustainable and cost-efficient, according to Unspun.
