MUMBAI – Viscose manufacturer Birla Cellulose has published its latest sustainability report in which it outlines its recent work on developing fibres from various waste inputs, reducing its environmental impact, and its ongoing transition towards a circular business model.

Over the course of 2022, Birla's retained its position in the leading category in Canopy's Hot Button Report for the third consecutive year, achieved a third party verified Higg Facility Environmental Module score of 94% at seven of its fibre manufacturing sites, and also reported a 38% reduction in sulphur-to-air emissions and a 45% reduction in water use at all its fibre plants relative to its 2015 baseline.
