PITTSBURGH - American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) claims to have reduced the amount of water used to manufacture its jeans by 38% last year, surpassing its initial water reduction goal one year early.

The achievement is included in AEO's newly published second ESG report which details progress made against the targets of the company's Building a Better World strategy and also features new sustainability goals.

After exceeding its target of reducing water use in denim production by 30% by 2023, AEO has now set itself a new target - to reduce it by half by 2025. Both targets are set against a 2017 baseline.
