Companies will be given longer to comply with flagship sustainability legislation after vote in European Parliament

BRUSSELS - Businesses will be given extra time to comply with European corporate sustainability legislation after MEPs today voted to support an urgently tabled 'stop the clock' package.

Large companies, which have not yet started reporting, and SMEs will have an extra two years before they have to meet the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), while the first phase of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) has been postponed for one year.
