Research commissioned by the EU has identified several unintended consequences for the textile industry of its circular economy policies

BRUSSELS – A new study commissioned by the EU has explored the potential unintended effects of the bloc’s policies promoting a circular economy, using the textile sector as a case study, and delivered new recommendations to improve future policy design.

The EU’s circular economy action plan includes initiatives designed to address the entire life cycle of products, targeting their design, sustainable consumption, and preventing waste.
