Textile Exchange publishes final Materials Matter criteria

Publication of the final Materials Matter criteria marks the first phase of the transition away from Textile Exchange’s current standards suite

BURBANK – Textile Exchange has published the final criteria for its long‑awaited Materials Matter Standard, setting a firm timetable for brands and retailers to transition to a unified, impact‑focused raw materials certification system.

The standard becomes effective on 31st December 2026, with certification mandatory from 31 December 2027 for eligible organisations wishing to maintain Textile Exchange accreditation.
