Report from UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action says brands are making inroads – but not fast enough to hit their goals

BONN - Fashion brands signed up to the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action are making measurable headway on climate targets, but progress is still too slow – especially on supply chain emissions and coal phase‑out, according to a new report.

The Charter, launched in 2018 and updated at COP26, commits signatories to net‑zero by 2050 with substantial cuts by 2030, either via SBTi‑approved goals or at least a 50% absolute reduction in scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from 2019 levels.
