First ‘LCA+’ cotton study promises more robust, region‑specific impact data to sharpen brands’ Scope 3 modelling and sourcing decisions

LONDON - Textile Exchange has published a major new cotton life cycle assessment (LCA) study that it claims will significantly strengthen the impact data brands use to model their raw material footprints.

The work is the first in a planned series of seven 'LCA+' studies and covers country‑average, organic, regenerative and recycled cotton systems across key producing regions.
