From 3 to 6 November at Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, Italian Exhibition Group’s event – the global stage for the circular economy – will feature a dedicated textile hall in its new layout

Among today’s most pressing environmental challenges, the sustainability of the textile value chain is one of the most significant. According to the European Commission, the sector has a major impact on natural resource use, water consumption and waste generation. The European Union has therefore accelerated policies promoting more circular production models. The United Kingdom is also strengthening its commitment. With around 1.4 million tonnes of textile products placed on the market each year and millions of garments ending up in household waste, the country is investing in separate collection, fibre recycling, traceability and business models based on reuse and longer product lifecycles.

IN ITALY THE LEADING CIRCULAR ECONOMY EVENT
Against this backdrop, Ecomondo, the leading international event for the green, blue and circular economy, organised by Italian Exhibition Group from 3 to 6 November at Rimini Expo Centre (Italy), will devote one of its main new features to the Textile sector.

For the first time, the entire textile value chain will have a dedicated exhibition hall: an international hub for companies, associations, institutions, researchers and stakeholders committed to the transition towards more circular models, at a crucial stage in implementing new European sustainability regulations.

The exhibition area will showcase innovative solutions for fibre recovery and recycling, textile waste management, eco-design, digital traceability and the use of secondary raw materials. These topics are particularly relevant following the introduction of mandatory separate collection of textile waste across the European Union and new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) measures, which will also be a key focus of the conference programme.

THE INTERNATIONAL ECOSYSTEM OF THE ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION
Ecomondo 2026 will further strengthen its international profile by attracting buyers, delegations and associations from around the world.

Thanks to new European and international partners and stakeholders, the event programme, curated by the International Technical Scientific Committee, will include more sessions in English, with particular attention to key European regulatory developments.

Other major topics will include healthy and circular cities, artificial intelligence, the bioeconomy and bioenergy, reflecting Ecomondo’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation and partnerships with the Mediterranean region and Africa.

Ecomondo continues to be a meeting point for the key players in the ecological transition. For the textile sector, it offers the opportunity to understand ongoing changes, develop new partnerships and identify the solutions that will shape the industry’s future, supported by a comprehensive programme of meetings and conferences developed with the contribution of the Ecomondo Textile Working Group.
