Registration and abstract submissions have opened for the International Textile and Colour Conference 2027, which will take place at the University of Leeds from 16th–18th June.

Hosted by the Leeds Institute of Textiles and Colour and the university’s School of Design, the event will address sustainable production, circular systems, materials innovation, AI and technical textiles.

Researchers, academics, postgraduate students and industry professionals can submit abstracts of up to 600 words by 26th February 2027.

The organisers are seeking interdisciplinary work spanning advanced manufacturing, automation, textile chemistry, digital transformation, health and performance textiles, waste management and material regeneration.

Katharine Beacham, head of materials and sustainability at Marks & Spencer, said of the inaugural 2025 event: “The topics and discussions felt genuinely new and insightful, rather than reiterations of familiar themes.”

The conference aims to connect research with industrial development and application across textiles, fashion and colour.E
