Roadmap to zero  

Roadmap to zero discharge takes new turn

Eleven leading apparel brands have published a new draft version of the joint roadmap to the zero discharge of hazardous chemicals in the textile supply chain by 2020. The group intends to move the conversation away from‘zero discharge’, possibly re-branding the group, saying its 2020 vision is to effect ‘systemic transformation of our industry.’

Teijin has announced that it will set up a closed loop polyester recycling system in China with textile fibre producer Zhejiang Jiabao New Fiber Group Co., Ltd. The partnership will use technology based on Teijin's 'Eco Circle' garment take-back system which involves the complete depolymerisation of polyester textiles.
