NEW YORK – American department store chain Nordstrom will today launch a second-hand clothing service both online and at its flagship store in New York.

It’s See You Tomorrow service, expected to run for six months before it’s reviewed, will stock the likes of Burberry, Adidas and Thom Browne and will accept pre-owned apparel in exchange for gift cards.

Research from online consignment store ThredUp has slapped a US$24 billion valuation on the global market for second-hand garments and tips this figure to double over the next five years.
