LONDON - Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists are this week planning to stage protests on London's Oxford Street to urge fast fashion brands to financially support their overseas suppliers through the coronavirus pandemic.

The protests, orchestrated by XR’s Fashion Action and Textiles Rebellion arms, target brands accused of cancelling or delaying orders which were completed or in production when lockdown forced them to close their stores, or demanded discounts to accept them.

XR says these include Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group, owner of Topshop and Miss Selfridge; Urban Outfitters, which also owns Free People and Anthropologie; Primark, GAP and Levi Strauss.
