DHAKA - The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has been criticised after requesting 10,000 priority COVID-19 vaccinations for factory owners and their families - but none for their 4.1 million workers.

The BGMEA has reportedly written to Beximco Pharmaceuticals appealing for priority vaccines, saying that factory owners are risking their lives by keeping open their factories which are vital to the country's economy.

Many factory owners in the garment industry had been infected with coronavirus and some of them had died, it continued.
