CALIFORNIA – Footwear brand Vans has introduced VR3 accreditation, a new in-house certification it will assign to products made up of at least 30 per cent regenerative, responsibly sourced, renewable and/or recycled materials.

The accreditation has been launched to reflect the company’s work towards ongoing targets, as it strives to ensure 100 per cent of its ‘top four’ materials – cotton, polyester, leather and rubber – are more sustainable.

The Californian brand has previously stated that if it’s able to reduce the environmental impact of these materials by 35 per cent by 2025, it could lead to a carbon reduction of 43 per cent.
