Garment durability failures threaten brand loyalty

Survey highlights expectations for longer-lasting clothing and material transparency, alongside the commercial consequences of poor quality

JERRABOMBERRA — Garment durability and material transparency underpin consumer expectations of circular fashion, according to research from Samsara Eco, with 27.7% of respondents abandoning brands after clothing fails.

The enzymatic recycling company's new Circular-Conscious Consumer Report found that 89% of buyers expected at least 30 wears from clothing, but over 64% said they would repair or continue wearing disappointing garments.
