SAN FRANCISCO – Campaigners are renewing their calls on US denim giant Levi’s to join the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry following the company’s recent sustainability report.

An alliance of 20 trade unions and civil society groups claims the report indicates that health and safety violations in garment factories in Levi’s global supply chain have not improved since 2019.

However, in a statement, Levi’s disputes this and insists that it is committed to worker safety, claiming it could best achieve this through its own policies and procedures.
