NEW YORK – ‘Sustainable’ cashmere brand Naadam has reportedly agreed to stop advertising its products as “cruelty free” following a complaint from animal welfare organisation PETA.

PETA had written to Naadam demanding that it removed the claim because of the pain caused when goats’ hair was pulled out with sharp metal combs for cashmere.

Less than an hour after receiving the latter, PETA says that Naadam CEO Matthew Scanlan confirmed the claims had been removed from the company’s website.
