SYDNEY - It will be another 75 years before fashion brands and retailers are able to ensure that garment workers in at least one of their supply chain factories are paid a living wage at the current rate of progress, according to a new report.
Baptist World Aid Australia's new Ethical Fashion Report is an update of their first report which was written a decade ago in the wake of the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh in which 1,134 workers lost their lives.
It reviews the fashion industry’s progress over the last decade, assessing data collected from 25 companies active in Australia over the last 10 years to project how the industry as a whole is likely to progress over the next decade.
