A year long trial in the UK has explored how to encourage consumers to get torn, stained and worn-out clothing out of the bin and into a recycling system
Consumers in the UK are significantly more likely to recycle unwearable or worn out clothing and textiles if they are given clear instructions and guidance on the available recycling schemes, new research suggests.
The findings have emerged from a near year-long trial from the Automated Sorting for Circularity in Textiles (ACT UK) project which, led by repair specialist Reskinned, also involved several leading retailers including Marks and Spencer, Tesco and Dunelm along with UK charities Crisis, Oxfam and the Salvation Army.
