Nike’s DEI strategy under scrutiny after Trump administration launches probe into allegations it discriminated against white workers

BEAVERTON – Nike’s diversity and inclusion agenda has come under direct attack from the Trump administration, after US civil rights regulators opened a formal review into whether the sportswear giant discriminated against white staff as it pursued DEI targets.

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has asked a federal court in Missouri to enforce a subpoena compelling Nike to hand over data on hiring, promotion, training and layoff decisions dating back to 2018, as part of an investigation into “systemic” DEI‑related race discrimination.
