Fashion repair demand outpaces brand awareness

LONDON – A new report finds that while seven in ten consumers repaired clothing in the past year, limited awareness, cost and convenience continue to restrict uptake of brand-led repair services.

The apparel sector finds itself squeezed between faster production cycles and renewed interest in fashion repair. A newly released industry report, Repair Culture in Fashion, published by Save Your Wardrobe, Create Sustain, and Klarna, explores how repair is transitioning from an informal, grassroots practice into a structured component of the mainstream customer experience.
