Toray Industries has developed a polyester-nylon composite fibre containing at least 93% recycled material by mass of total raw-yarn weight.
Both polymer components use recycled feedstock, drawing on the company’s &+ recycled fibre brand. Toray said proprietary polymer design and composite spinning overcame the difficulty of maintaining quality when combining recycled polymers.

The figure applies to the raw yarn, not finished fabric or garments. Recycled content in Artirosa CX, the new fabric incorporating the fibre, will vary by composition.
The fabric is designed for outerwear, urban outdoor and premium casual wear. It can offer waterproofing, durable water repellency and wind resistance without intentionally using PFAS in water-repellent agents.
Toray will assess mass-production viability and plans an autumn/winter 2027 launch, targeting initial sales of 200,000 metres.
