River Island re-calls clothing due to heavy metals

LONDON – UK high street fashion retailer River Island is re-calling five items of clothing which have been found to contain traces of cadmium and lead in excess of legally permitted levels within the EU.

Two variations of a check pattern dress, a tassel playsuit, a sequin embellished top and a studded cream hoodie were sold through the company’s online and high street retail outlets, dating back to as far as February 2018.
