Textile industry in Spain and Portugal fights for survival

Spain and Portugal’s textile industries are finding themselves fighting for survival, amid declining sales, increasing competition, and soaring production costs, a new survey suggests.

The challenges, which also include a shrinking workforce, are said to be so overwhelming that many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) forming the backbone of the industry face the threat of closure.
