Wool waste turned into antibacterial textile finish

FAISALABAD – Researchers claim post-consumer wool waste can be converted to give recycled banana cotton fabric properties that could be a new route for textile upcycling.

The study, published in the Journal of Applied Polymer Science, uses discarded wool as a precursor for nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCDQDs) through hydrothermal carbonisation with citric acid.
