Cambodia’s $2 wage rise draws concern

Cambodia will raise its monthly minimum wage for garment, footwear, travel goods and bag workers by $2 to $212 from 1st January 2027, amid concerns over living costs.

The increase falls short of the $225 proposed by union representatives. Employers sought to retain the existing $210 rate before prime minister Hun Manet intervened.
