Bangladesh urged to review minimum wage annually

DHAKA – Bangladesh is being urged to review the minimum wage for garment workers annually - instead of every five years as at present - to reduce the "extreme tension between workers, employers and government", says a report.

The study, by the Global Labor Institute (GLI) at Cornell University, New York, points out that other apparel exporting countries, like Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia, conduct annual minimum wage reviews.
