UK retailers link up to target circular textiles

LONDON — M&S, New Look, Sainsbury’s and Oxfam have joined Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems to launch a UK initiative intended to develop commercial routes for non-reusable post-consumer textiles.

To be called The Circuit, the programme will begin in January 2027 at Oxfam’s Batley site in Yorkshire, where partners will test automated textile sorting, reporting systems and pre-processing arrangements for recycling feedstock.
