DHAKA – A new study has explored how extracting cellulase from bagasse, a widely available byproduct of the sugarcane industry, could be a sustainable source of enzyme technology for the cotton biopolishing process.
The use of hydrolysing enzymes such as cellulases, which provoke a chemical reaction where water is mostly used to break down chemical bonds, is a long-established practice in the textile processing industry.
