OECD recognition for GOTS due diligence

Global Standard, the non-profit organisation behind the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), has announced that GOTS version 7.0 has been assessed through the OECD alignment assessment process and was found to demonstrate ‘close alignment’ with the ‘OECD due diligence guidance for responsible supply chains in the garment and footwear sector’.

The OECD’s ‘standards only’ assessment evaluated 167 criteria and concluded that GOTS Version 7.0 addresses all six steps of the OECD due diligence guidance. Of these, 69% were found to be fully aligned, 29% partially aligned, and only 2% not aligned.
