A significant shift is underway in Bangladesh’s labour landscape following the interim government’s recent approval of the Bangladesh Labour Act (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 and the ratification of three key International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions.

These actions represent a major push to align national laws with global standards, enhance worker protections, and address long-standing issues of dignity and safety.
