Huge India textile event defies sustainability sceptics

Browsing the recently closed Bharat Tex exhibition in New Delhi, India, Ecotextile News correspondents noted how the Indian textile sector expects that fibre recycling is going to be a crucial component for the competitiveness and future of textiles in the country.

Visitors and exhibitors told us that developing a robust recycling infrastructure will allow India to transform textile waste into valuable resources, while also reducing the demand for virgin materials in a bid to not only conserve the environment – and to set benchmarks for an emerging circular economy in its huge textile sector.
