New parliamentary report says goods linked to forced labour, including from China’s Xinjiang region, are on sale in the UK

LONDON - The UK is failing to prevent goods linked to forced labour from entering its supply chains, particularly in high-risk industries like fashion and textiles, a new parliamentary report warns.

The Joint Committee on Human Rights found UK consumers were unknowingly buying goods made using forced labour, including from China’s cotton hub Xinjiang region where Uyghur Muslims are allegedly subjected to forced labour.
