UK retailers are backing a new plan to reshape textile collection

LONDON — Next, Primark and Tesco are backing a programme led by WRAP to overhaul how the UK collects, sorts, reuses and recycles unwanted textiles.

The initiative, called the Textile Collections Transition Programme, will bring together retailers and other stakeholders to develop a coordinated approach. WRAP plans workshops from October to January, with a blueprint due in spring 2027 and implementation expected to begin that spring.
