UK opens microplastic recycling plant

The UK-based Cleaner Seas Group is to open what it claims is a the ‘world’s-first’ microfibre recycling centre.

Bases in in Bude, Cornwall, the project, which has been financed with support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will see laundry microfibres captured in Cleaner Seas’s filters fitted on domestic and industrial washing machines, converted into recycled materials for use in a range of industries, including textiles and packaging.
