Brands and retailers must address the ‘say-do’ gap if they are to drive growth in sustainable fashion and textiles

A new report has highlighted the significant gap between US and Canadian consumers’ desire for sustainable fashion and their actual purchasing behaviour.

The ’Conscious Consumer 2025’ report, conducted by Public Inc with support from Ipsos, shows that despite nearly 76% of consumers claiming they want to support sustainable brands, ‘conscious consumerism’ only accounts for 38% of purchases.
