Germany recycling sector in need of government help

Germany’s BVSE Textile Recycling Association (FTR) has warned that urgent action is required to avert the collapse of the country’s textile and shoe recycling system.

Writing to Dr. Silke Karcher of the Federal Environment Ministry and the Bundestag’s Environment Committee, the FTR has outlined a seven-point plan which it says is necessary to avoiding a significant increase in recycling costs and potential environmental harm.
