New report from Solidaridad and the Organic Cotton Accelerator warns conventional cotton farming is putting biodiversity at risk
UTRECHT — Poor farming practices are putting biodiversity at risk in cotton growing regions, according to a new study from Solidaridad and the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA).
The 'Cotton and Biodiversity' report says agrochemical overuse, the expansion of monocultures and poor water management are threatening biodiversity across three levels - genetic, ecosystem and species diversity.
