NGOs and unions make joint call for hike in the minimum wage for garment workers in Cambodia amidst rising living costs

PHNOM PENH — As negotiations begin in Cambodia today on an increase in garment workers' minimum wage, campaigners and trade unions are calling for a significant rise amidst rampant inflation.

A total of 27 civil society groups and trade unions are demanding a hike in the minimum wage for the country's garment and footwear workers from $208 to $232 a month in 2026.
