DANVILLE – Textile-to-textile recycler Circ has announced a partnership with Chinese materials group Huafon to develop a multi-phase textile-to-textile recycling site in China, with an initial planned capacity of around 200 metric tonnes of waste per day.

The facility will process polycotton waste and recover polyester and cellulose components for use in new textiles. Outputs include recycled purified terephthalic acid (PTA), recycled monoethylne glycol (MEG) and recycled cellulosic pulp.

Circ has also applied for environmental authorisation for its proposed French plant in August and has since filed a construction permit. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the €450 million ($504m) facility targeting start-up in late 2028 or 2029.
